Dear Rabbit fans!
this week we are screening the 1979 Cannes Palme d'Or and Oscar winner film by German filmmaker Volker Schlöndorff. A black comedy based on the novel of Nobel Prize-winning author Günter Grass, follows the rise and fall of the Third Reich in Germany told through the eyes of a boy who decided he would stop growing up at age 3. This film faced banning issues for it's controversial scenes alluding to children in the sexual act, but was one of the most financially successful German films of the 1970s.
