Petal Portraits | A Multi-Sensory Event

Petal Portraits is a one-­‐night-­‐only event, part of Dumbo's First Thursday series of art walks. 
Experience the Petal Series through Photography, dance & Fragrance.
Showcasing selected works from photographer Tal Shpantzer’s Petal Portraits series, the event includes a multimedia performance by Vangeline.
For this event, Vangeline interprets Shpantzer’s The Petal Portraits to a projection using movement and gesture from her piece “Ritual”.
Also planned is a presentation by Euphorium Brooklyn perfumer Stephen Dirkes of the fragrance PÉTALES, the creation of which was a unique collaboration between Dirkes and Shpantzer. 

Shpantzer’s petal portraits, each featuring a woman paired with a flower, are striking in their apparent simplicity and richness of detail. The portraits both engage with and challenge our traditional notions of flowers as symbols.
