SHADOWS by John Cassavetes

on Wed, 03/09/2011 - 21:56

This week at Rabbit!
we are screening a landmark movie that inspired the birth of American independent films, John Cassavetes' first, SHADOWS. Shot in the late 50s in Harlem, with handheld camera and semi-improvised dialogue, it breathes the themes of the Beat Generation jazz and touches realistically the subject of interracial relationships, still very taboo at the time.

As an homage to our dear city! Come cozy up in the couches for a evening of drinks and authentic NYC jazz.

BYOB - FREE
opens at 8 (movie starts around 8:30)
