Four women, four cameras, four unique perspectives on humanity. Every artist struggles with forming an idea of how to project her vision through her art. This exhibit represents four reflections of the dark beauty of the human form.
Liz Schnore
Burlesque in the 21st century, who would have thought this art form would endure. All the joy and carefree sexuality of a bygone era. This is my study of the complexity of beauty and humanity.
Manu Romano
I am incapable to explain in words the odd notions, mental twists, unusual or eccentric ideas that populate my mind. But I can translate them into unique images using my camera.
Ebru Yildiz
I find people fascinating and beautiful. The photos I make of them have a tendency to turn out really dark and strange in some way. I think I believe that the really contrasted and nightly images of people reveal more about their personalities. It is almost as if people become more of themselves in the dark. Isolated from everything else, just being themselves.
Maria Kenny
Skin. Intimate Trespassers. Our skin bears traces of our inner lives and memory is what makes our lives, it’s time and place, our mythology. I believe our body has a memory stitch and that our bodies never lie, our thoughts are embedded in our bodies by the traces of skin we leave on our pillow at night. This exhibition is an exploration of those thoughts. There’s a dress on my body.
