“Glitches in the Grass” is a collaborative effort by 8 young artists to create a millennial’s perspective on a post-modern garden. In a world where one can experience nature through technology, the sublime has been redefined. Witnessing nature without flesh has become speculative only to the invisible eye of automatic reproduction, and provides perception beyond ordinary sight within it’s interchangeable digital filters. In historical lieu, the “garden” is an expression of aesthetic beauty; it is the stylized upkeep of civilized life, and sometimes a measure of wealth.
In this new garden fabrication, we hope to fully emerge the viewer in the full array of sensations they would feel outdoors, but also the uncomfortable impending doom of the technical sabotage they would otherwise experience if they were trapped inside a "glitching" infinity of cyber space.
