Saturday, March 19: BODY / Space

This event is a collaboration between three women­led organizations. The focus is on converging the talented artists in our community under the broad notion of “Body Positivity” for the purpose of reframing how we talk, feel, and think about bodies. BODY/Space will be held at the end of March a gallery­space in DUMBO. It is equal parts a call for art/participants and an open exhibition for the community to observe, learn, participate and connect with their fellow community members.

WHO WE ARE:
We are a collaborative team united by the common goal of creating community around the expansive theme of BODY.

My Body Does​­ ​Jess Andersen and Ashley Simon ­ Co­founders of My Body Does, a
community for redefining the way we talk about bodies. Through media and events, MBD
aims to nourish self­compassion and bring diversity and nuance to the dialogue about
body image and wellness.

Creative Girls of NYC​­ ​Emily Faber ­ Founder of an actively engaged Meetup group for
creative girls in NYC & curator of the Partial Mystery event series, which aims to bring
social experiences to gallery settings.

GIRL PARTY​­ ​Sandra Hong and Liz Power ­ Unconventional gatherings with
extraordinary female creatives.
