Aushra Bankauskaite and Mante Maskoliunaite, two jewelry designers that work in the collaboration under aka jewellery, creating contemporary and conceptual jewelry. Both were born in Lithuania and received Bachelors of Fine Art with focus on Jewelry and Metal Work in Vilnius Academy of Arts in Lithuania. They started Their collaboration “aka jewellery” in 2008. In 2010 moved to Brooklyn, NY, where they currently reside and continue their creative collaboration.

With “aka jewelry” they try to showcase the fine line between contemporary art and jewelry. Creating works from similar sources of inspiration. In earlier works, they drew inspiration from medical instruments and their interaction with the body. In some cases their jewelry serves as a tool to extend the human body giving it back different primordial natures. Since living in New York they have grown interest to observing the surrounding architecture and simplicity of lines within structures. Aushra and Mante view the body as canvas and metal as their medium and are demonstrating that jewelry is not only an accessory, but is a conceptual piece of art.

Ruta Balseviciute is a Filmmaker based in London. She is filming, editing and directing in addition to creating animation. She has worked with Karl Lagerfeld for NET-A-PORTER; Premier Model MAnagement, Mr. Start among others.
